World mental health day
Mental health problems can affect anyone, any day of the year, but 10th October is a great day to show your support for better mental health and start looking after your own wellbeing. We all need to take care of our mental health whether we have a mental health problem or not.
Mental wellbeing describes how you are feeling and how well you can cope with day-to-day life. It can change from moment to moment, day to day, month to month or year to year. Mental health problems affect around one in four people in any given year. They range from common problems, such as depression and anxiety, to rarer problems such as schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.
As part of Capita’s commitment to investing in our people and fostering a more supportive working environment, we are marking this date with a number of activities across our sites globally. This includes launching a pilot Employee Assistance Programme for employees in the UK with plans to expand it across all our global operations.
