Charity bike ride helping Air Ambulance
On Saturday 13th July Neil Green, a member of the CRM team at Capita Intelligent Communications, headed up an 82 mile charity bike ride raising a current total of £2,500 for the Lincolnshire & Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance Service.
The annual Skegness bike ride has been an event since 2001, starting with eight riders and now attracting up to 60 riders, with the route starting in Mansfield and finishing in Skegness. Everyone involved had a great day and some even decided to ride in fancy dress. But the highlight this year was a rider taking part on their Raleigh Chopper … they crossed the finish line in seven hours. Well done!
At the end of the day the Lord Mayor of Skegness, who attends every year, presented medals to the riders.
Neil started the charity event in memory of his father who had cancer “ I wanted to raise money for local charities and put my energy in to something positive, so I set up this event and opened it up to anyone with a bike” commented Neil “ Over the years it has just grown and we’ve had fantastic support from everyone involved whether they are riders or organisers.”
To support the event Neil has also established a website skegnessbikeride.co.uk. Feel free to view all the photos from this and past events and if you’d like to make a donation to the Lincolnshire & Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance you can also do this via the website.
